Keri Hilson feat. KanYe West and Ne-yo "Knock You Down"

Keri Hilson's new single and music video called "Knock You Down" featuring KanYe West and Ne-yo. I Thought it was a cool video and good single for Keri to release. I hope this will become a hit! The bad news is when it does become a hit I will have this song stuck in my head forever because I will probably be hearing it everywhere, but I can deal with that lol sidebar: Did you notice this but KanYe was rocking the New Air Yeezy in the video? (don't you hate how he always tease us! lol) Which those are the pair that are pose to be droppping next month I believe, (they be out now) but I thought that was dope. Also, It seem like in the video that KanYe had a flashback to him and Curtis facing off during the scene where he was facing off with Ne-yo in the video lol Ne-yo versus KanYe...hmmm....hahaha.
Anyway, Keri Hilson's new album "In A Perfect World..." is out in stores now!!! so go cop it!!!

We Are Lasers

Grammy Award winning rapper Lupe Fiasco has taken to the social networking microsite, Twitter, to announce some changes about his third album. After originally planning a three-disc work tentatively titled LupEND, Lupe has changed course and plans to name the upcoming album We Are Lasers.

"'We Are Lasers'...comes from some repressed high school outcast shit...blended amidst 'And He Gets The Girl' ambitions," Lupe tweeted over the weekend. Initial reports point to the album being a close-knit affair featuring the rest of his 1st & 15th family, with his longtime producer Soundtrakk handling most of the production.

Aside from name checking a few of his current favorites, including Kid Cudi and the aforementioned Soundtrakk, Lupe didn't provide any other musical details. Although he did add that he would not likely be continuing the string of successful mixtapes, stating, "I don't feel I have to do mixtapes anymore...I think that point was proven..."

So I don't know If Lupe is still going to do two following albums in December 2009 and June 2010 after this one or not anymore. Also, after that is he still going to drop LupEND at the end of his career? I just hope Lupe isn't forcing himself to put out music because of Atlantic. It just seem that way to me because he was wanting his next album to be his last which was pose to be titled LupEnd, but that was canceled. I'm not sure why LupEnd was canceled but if I had to guess it would have to be because of Lupe's contact with Atlantic and they wasn't going to let him finish with just three albums. That's just my guess so don't go around staying that true because it just a hypothesis that hasn't been publicly been proven. (that I know of) I hope Lupe isn't forcing his music because in my opinion I don't ever think it a good idea for artist to force his work. I believe you should not be pressured and they should have their heart into there work and if their heart is not into it anymore they shouldn't do it anymore. plain and simple. I feel like that how Lupe is right now because he said he tried of rapping and he want to do other things. But unfornately, the music industry is full of dictator that just want it their way and they only care about the money a artist makes and not the artist. So Lupe has no choice but to deal with it. In conclusion, I can't wait for We Are Lasers to drop! I will most definitely cop it and bang the shit out of it on my iphone.

Michael Jordan... Crying?

PEORIA, Ill. - Michael Jordan celebrated another Chicago basketball championship - his son's.

Marcus Jordan, son of the Bulls' six-time champion, scored a game-high 19 points to lead Chicago Whitney Young to a 69-66 victory over Waukegan in the Illinois Class 4A championship Saturday.

As Marcus Jordan and his teammates celebrated on the court after the final buzzer, Michael Jordan stood quietly, clapping his hands with tears in his eyes.

"Crying?" the NBA great said in response to a reporter's question. "I'm not crying. Not for me, anyway."

The younger Jordan was key down the stretch after two teammates fouled out, hitting four of four free throws in the final 3 minutes to seal the victory.

"Awesome," Marcus Jordan said. "Just awesome."

Michael Jordan, part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, skipped his team's home loss to Indiana so he could attend his son's game. Another son, Jeff Jordan, plays basketball for the University of Illinois.

Well It looks like The NBA needs to watch out another MJ ON THE WAY!!! or should I say MJs because let's not forget get his son Jeff. It like they say "Like Father Like Son"

Public Enemies

In the action-thriller Public Enemies, acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard in the incredible and true story of legendary Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger (Depp)the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoovers fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. No one could stop Dillinger. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyonefrom his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard) to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression. But while the adventures of Dillinger's ganglater including the sociopathic Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham)thrilled many, Hoover (Billy Crudup) hit on the idea of exploiting the outlaw's capture as a way to elevate his Bureau of Investigation into the national police force that became the FBI. He made Dillinger America's first Public Enemy Number One. Hoover sent in Purvis, the dashing "Clark Gable of the FBI". However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis' men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of Western ex-lawmen (newly baptized as agents) who were real gunfighters and orchestrating epic betrayals from the infamous "Lady in Red" to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nittiwere Purvis and the FBI able to close in on Dillinger.

I must say I can't wait for this movie to drop! Besides the fact that I'm a sucker for gangster/mafia kind of movies like The Godfather, Goodfellas, American Gangster, Scarface, etc. On top of that you got Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in the same movie how dope is that! The director is none other than Micheal Mann, who has directed for Ali, Collateral, The Aviator, Miami Vice, etc. The movie drops July, 1 which is just in time for Independence day. Let just pray that this will be a dope movie.

Houston The Man Is Still On The Moon!

So apparently Kid Cudi has announced that he is actually not retiring! Kid Cudi claims that he was just having a "Peter Parker" moment and he didn't want to be "Spider-Man" anymore, (If you don't understand than watch Spider-Man 2 or read the comics) but he said he don't know what he was thinking when he made that statement that he was retiring (ME EITHER! lol) because he needs his fans and his fans need him. So Kid Cudi is going to continue on making dope music! But as a Musician myself I understand how your personal life can get in the way of your goals and dreams and make you want to say F*** it! Sidebar: I do hope Kid Cudi still decides to continue with his dream of wanting to be a actor (while still doing music too!) I'm interested to see how his future acting career will turn out. Anyways, it good to hear that Kid Cudi isn't putting down the mic to soon. Hopefully, he will continue holding the microphone like a grudge (Rakim line if dont know) for many years to come.

Apple and AT&T Are Getting Sued!

Apple and AT&T are being sued (again) for the latter's spotty 3G performance. Macworld has reported:

"Filed in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, Damone Dickerson claims that Apple misrepresented the speed, strength and performance of the 3G network. The lawsuit claims that he could only connect to the fast 3G network a fraction of the time, and that it did not provide full and continual service. In fact, Dickerson claims that most of the time he receives no 3G connectivity at all.

The lawsuit charges the companies with Negligence, Breach of Express Warranty, Breach of Implied Warranty of Merchantability, Unjust Enrichment, Negligent Misrepresentation, Violation of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and Other Similar State Statutes, and Breach of Contract."

Initially, I wondered why Dickerson didn't just return the phone and cancel his contract during his trial period, but then I remembered that I live in the United States of America, where litigation is king. Keep in mind that there have been multiple lawsuits similar to Dickerson's claim, so he might be a copycat wishing to cash in on AT&T's inconsistent 3G performance.

For you iPhone users in the house, how has AT&T's 3G performance worked for you? Whether it's good or bad, please let me know how it has been and what area you live in. Hopefully this post doesn't inspire anyone to contact their lawyer.

Well all I got to say is if Steve Jobs wasn't sitting around at his desk getting headjobs all day this shit wouldn't of happened! Jp lol
sidebar: CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY THE IPHONE DOESN'T HAVE A VIDEO RECORDER (that I know of) ON IT? Apple be f***ing up sometimes!

Tales Of The Black Freigther

26 minutes. Rated R for “violent and grisly images”. (That’s fun to say.) Those images consist of various body parts floating around the ocean, and bodies exploding from decay, and the protagonist building a raft of bodies. Anyone who’s read the graphic novel or seen the movie won’t be terribly shocked by all this, I fear. (And if you haven’t, why would you be interested?)

It’s a cartoon about the horror of survival after a shipwreck. It explores one man’s descent into madness after facing an overwhelming force that destroys his crew and, he fears, his home and family.

The animation is limited, reminiscent of a segment of the Heavy Metal movie, or maybe one of the Joe Orlando horror comics of the 70s. There’s a ponderous voiceover about how significant it all is, voice provided by Gerard Butler. Full of horrific imagery, I was left feeling “this is quite unpleasant.”

It feels like an animated Twilight Zone episode
Taken out of the context of the bigger story, the “pirate comic” seems to lose much of its point. It feels like an animated Twilight Zone episode, and you lose the character arc analogy and counterpoint. (Not that I thought it was necessary in the first place.) Instead, it seems like grotesquery for its own sake.

The end credits air with “Pirate Jenny”, a Berthold Brecht/Kurt Weill song from The Threepenny Opera performed by Nina Simone, playing over them. (Note that, based on the lyrics, Alan Moore uses a similar story in the upcoming League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Century #1: 1910.) That’s where the Black Freighter name came from, as they explain later in one of the special features (see below).

Under the Hood
38 minutes. Rated PG for “mild thematic elements, brief violent and suggestive images, and smoking”. This dramatization of the Watchmen text pieces takes the format of a 1985 talk show — one guy, in chair, on black set with projected images over his shoulder — showing a 1975 “rerun” of an interview with Hollis Mason (Stephen McHattie), the author of the book Under the Hood. (All this reminded me just how old the book was, that they had to play with decades that way.)

Fake newspapers, staged photographs, and impressive created artifacts make it feel real. (Except for how the host looks older in 1975 than he does in 1985.) I found this segment much more watchable than the first because it has a sense of fun, playing with the premise and content, plus it contributes to the world-building of the movie. They also tie in real history, like mentioning Action Comics #1 as a big influence. (Although they show the cover of Superman #1, bad DVD! KC says that makes it more realistic, since comic mentions in the media in the 1970s tended to get the details wrong.)

seeing the old-style newsreels showing the early heroes is enjoyable, and I appreciated how much effort went into it.

Special Features
The disc also includes the first chapter of the Watchmen Motion Comic, the trailer for the upcoming Green Lantern animated movie, and the 25-minute “Story Within a Story: The Books of Watchmen”.

This featurette includes Dave Gibbons (co-creator and illustrator of the original graphic novel), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Comedian), and the filmmakers talking about the two main features and how they connect to the theatrical film. Also contributing are the usual suspects from DC Comics (Levitz and the over-used, boring Noveck), joined by Len Wein (original project editor), Richard Bruning (creative director and KC’s former boss), and Jenette Kahn (former publisher). Some of it is telling us what we just saw, but I suppose that’s inevitable, and what passes for commentary these days. (I want to hear writers, actors, illustrators, and directors talking, not Hollywood property owners, producers, and money men who have nothing creative to do with the work.)

The Overall Package
even if you want to see it, would you ever watch it more than once?
Both of the main segments will be excellent bonus features on the eventual special edition DVD release, but asking fans to pay this much (list price: $28) for promotional material, even if it does serve as an ad for the movie, is annoying. A key question for potential customers: even if you want to see it, would you ever watch it more than once? It will make a lot more sense interspersed in the director’s cut.

I think the true purpose is summed up by Gregory Noveck, Senior VP, Creative Affairs, DC Comics. (What does he do besides DVD commentaries?)

So if you go and see the Watchmen movie, and then you go get Under the Hood and the Black Freighter, and then you go and you look at those, and then all of a sudden that informs how you see the movie, and you go back and look at the movie again, and then something you see in the movie tells you oh, I better look at Black Freighter again, then that’s exactly how the guys wanted you to experience the comic book in the first place.

I somehow don’t believe that Alan Moore, uncredited in all this by his own wishes, intended for his story to be experienced in three separate cross-media pieces.

(A complimentary copy for this review was provided by the studio.)

Sidebar: "The World Will Look Up and Shout Save Us! and I'll whisper...NO"
I love that quote! Also, If you haven't seen The Watchmen I Highly recommend you to go see it, especially before seeing Tales Of The Black Fighter. That way you'll have more of a understanding of The Watchmen mythology. Finally, you must check out The watchmen graphic novel as well. It is incredible! Mad Kudos for Alan Moore (Creator of the Watchmen) for coming up with a dope story. :D
